Hello everyone and welcome! Miriam Goodman has written a book called Too Much Togetherness:Surviving Retirement As A Couple and when she contacted me about doing the show I initially thought it was a little off topic. However, I continued to consider it because I got to thinking that, hey, ex-offenders retire too! In fact, I found this topic to be a very important part of an ex-offenders life. Whether we are talking about retirement in the near future or just the very beginning of planning, this is a fantastic episode of JOH! Join me for my interview with author Miriam Goodman. Remember, if God is for you, who can be against you?

Hey There! An often overlooked aspect of the incarceration process is the the family members that must take the full load of responsibility while their loved one is locked-up. A spouse will in fact have to function as a single parent if there are children involved. My guest this week, Betty Mayfield, has been down the road of a single parent and was able to able to get through it and even obtained a degree along the way. She is now the CEO and founder of an organization called SMOOTH (Single Mothers Overcoming Our True Hurt), and the Author of Secret Struggles of The Single Mother Betty has a great conversation with me on this week's episode and includes some some practical advice for the spouses awaiting the return of a loved one from incarceration on the how to get by. Always remember, if God is for you, who can be against you?
