Hi and welcome to this week's episode. We hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving! This week, I interview Mark Anthony, The Psychic Attorney. " A psychic....really?", you might ask. Yes, really! Now, we do have a little fun with Mark during the interview but you have got to hear what he has to say about unresolved issues. Specifically, Mark explains how the suppression of the death of a loved one can effect our behaviors in later years. Mark knows what he his talking about too. Not only is he a medium, but he also is a practicing criminal defense attorney and can point to numerous examples of how the suppression of the death of a loved one can lead to the kinds of acting out that lands people in jail. For us, he is talking about the kinds of behaviors that could put us back there. This is a fascinating interview and believe me, even the most skeptical of you will come away from it informed. I know I did. After the interview, check out Mark's site at http://www.healgriefwithbelief.com/ and join his huge following on Face-book. Remember, if God is for you, who can be against you?

It has been my contention that the phrase, "beating the odds" is meaningless. There are no odds. In fact, the odds are arbitrarily placed barriers we unconsciously place in front of certain areas of our lives. Seth David Chernoff and Gerald Balone have figured this out. On this week's edition of Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers, these two men demonstrate how they have managed to survive and thrive despite tremendous obstacles that they refuse to let stand in their way. Seth survived life threatening cancer not once, but twice. Gerald spent 37 years in prison. Both men, despite their circumstances, live happy, successful, productive lives. No "odds" stood in their way. I interview both of these men on this week's show. Seth David Chernoff's book, Manuel For Living: A Users Guide To The Meaning Of Life is a must read for the ex-offender. Check out Seth's site and get his book at http://www.sethchernoff.com Gerald Balone has a great deal of excellent information on his site including access to video from his appearance on the 700 club. Check out Jerry's site and get his book at http://www.gtbspeaks.com Remember, If God is for you, who can be against you!

Hi and welcome to a new edition of Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers. On this week's show I interview Dr. Paul Fauteck. Paul's story is fascinating and a model that all of us who are ex-offenders should look to as to what is possible in our post-incarceration lives. After doing time in federal prison, Paul turned his life around in such a dramatic way that he became a forensic psychologist and in 1992 was granted a Presidential pardon. His book, Going Straight, An Ex-Con/Psychologist Tells Why and How is must read. Check out his book and some free videos for download at Paul's site http://going-straight.com. Enjoy the interview and remember, If God is for you, who can be against you!

Hi and welcome to The Journey of Hope With Rodney Mathers On this week's episode we speak with author Steve Olsher about his book, Journey To You. Steve's book was just named USA Book Club's "Self Help Book Of The Year" and it is easy to see why! Steve has excellent advice for ex-offenders and anyone who wants to put their past behind them and become the person in life they were meant to be. This is a fascinating interview filled with great advice. I highly recommend this book to ex-offenders and it would make a great gift for an offender in pre-release. Read about Steve and get his book at http://www.steveolsher.com I also spend a little time on this week's show addressing the families of the 165,000 men and women incarcerated in Texas. Michael Wren has started a shuttle service for these families and if you have a loved one in TDCJ you will want to hear what Michael can do for you for a visit as we rapidly approach the holiday season.
